Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: September 21, 2026
BeWhole Pelvic Physical Therapy is committed to making bewholepelvicphysicaltherapy.com usable by everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard only, rely on voice control, or need more contrast, more time, or less motion to read and use a website comfortably. Accessibility for a healthcare provider is not optional: it is how a patient in pain finds us, reads about their condition, and books the visit that helps them.
Conformance Target
We aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard referenced in the HHS Section 504 accessibility rule and widely used as the benchmark in ADA Title III web accessibility matters. WCAG 2.1 AA is a target we work toward, not a one-time certification; conformance is our ongoing process, not a fixed, final state.
Measures We've Taken
This site was built and, in September 2026, specifically audited and remediated against WCAG 2.1 AA. That work included:
Semantic landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and a "Skip to main content" link on every page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass repeated navigation. Visible keyboard focus indicators on every link, button, and form field. Labels, error messages, and required-field indicators on our appointment request form that are read aloud by assistive technology, not conveyed by color or an asterisk alone. Color and text combinations checked and adjusted to clear a 4.5:1 contrast ratio for body text and 3:1 for large text and interactive graphics. A form that keeps working, in a single flat layout, if JavaScript fails to load, rather than becoming unusable. Motion and animation that respects your operating system's "reduce motion" setting, and content that is never left invisible if an animation script does not run. Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images (staff photos, condition illustrations) and empty alternative text on purely decorative graphics, so screen readers don't read out noise. A mobile menu that traps and returns keyboard focus correctly and can be closed with the Escape key.
We do not use, and will not add, an accessibility overlay widget (an automated "accessibility toolbar" plugin). Overlays do not reliably fix underlying code and are not a substitute for building and testing an accessible site directly.
Ongoing Review
We review this site's accessibility whenever we publish new pages or redesign existing ones, and we periodically re-test key pages, including our appointment request form and location pages, with keyboard-only navigation and automated testing tools. This statement is updated whenever that review changes what's true about the site.
Known Limitations
Some parts of this site depend on services we don't control:
Our Google Maps location embeds are provided by Google and inherit Google's own accessibility implementation, which is outside our control. Our Google Reviews widget (Elfsight) and any other embedded third-party script are built and maintained by their respective providers; we test that they remain keyboard-operable and will contact the provider or replace the embed if a specific barrier is reported. We are not currently aware of any accessibility barrier on the pages we author directly. If you find one, please tell us using the contact information below and we will prioritize a fix.
