01Common Questions

Everything patients ask before their first visit.

No. Pennsylvania has direct access, which means you can book an evaluation today without seeing a physician first. If your insurance requires a referral for reimbursement, we help you get it sorted during your first visit.

We accept most major plans, and we verify your benefits before your first visit so there are zero surprises. Self-pay options are available and we'll walk you through them honestly.

Most patients feel a meaningful change inside the first two or three visits. Full recovery timelines depend on the condition. We give you an honest estimate at your evaluation, in writing.

Your first visit is a full evaluation, not a rushed five minute look. You talk through your history and goals one on one with Dr. Kavitha, in a private room, at a pace you are comfortable with. Together you find what is actually driving your symptoms, and you leave with a clear explanation, a straightforward plan, and often some hands-on treatment the same day. Your evaluation runs about 40 minutes.

Wear whatever feels comfortable and lets you move, loose or athletic clothing is perfect. Pelvic health visits are always private and one on one with Dr. Kavitha, with draping and your consent at every step. Nothing happens that you are not comfortable with, and you stay in control of the pace the whole way through.

Your evaluation and your follow-up treatment sessions both run about 40 minutes of one-on-one time with your therapist, not passed between aides or split across three other patients. That focused time is exactly how we track your progress and adjust the plan visit to visit instead of running the same routine for months.

How often you come in depends on the severity of your diagnosis. Most patients are seen once or twice a week, and the majority land on twice a week, especially early on while we calm things down and rebuild the basics. As you improve, visits taper toward once a week and then to periodic check-ins as you take over your own program. We would rather see you the right number of times than the most times, and we will tell you plainly what your specific case needs.

Plenty of patients choose self-pay, whether they have a high deductible, want to skip visit limits, or simply prefer privacy. We offer transparent flat rates with no surprise bills and no hidden fees. Ask at your first call and we will lay out the exact numbers before you commit to anything.

It is completely normal to feel nervous, and Dr. Kavitha makes comfort and dignity the priority from your very first visit. Everything is explained before it happens, done privately and one on one, and only ever with your consent. Much of the work is education, breathing, and external hands-on care. Any internal assessment is optional and fully your choice. Most patients feel at ease far sooner than they expected.

Yes. Every plan includes a home program tailored to where you are in recovery, never a generic printout pulled from a filing cabinet. We show you each exercise in person, check your form, and adjust as you progress. The goal is a body that keeps improving between visits, not one that only moves when you are in our clinic.

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons people finally come in. Leaking, pressure, or pelvic pain that has lasted for years often means the body has been compensating for a long time. The plan takes a broader look at how everything works together, not just the symptom that bothers you. It can take a bit longer than a recent issue, but real, lasting change is very much on the table.

For many pelvic conditions, yes. A structured course of pelvic floor therapy helps many people with incontinence, prolapse, and pelvic pain avoid or delay surgery by rebuilding the muscles that support and control the pelvic organs. Dr. Kavitha will always tell you honestly if your case needs a surgeon. But conservative care is worth a real try first, and it costs you far less time and risk to find out.
